IIL Climate & Nature Summit 2026
18th - 22nd May 2026
3-days in nature, discussing the most pressing challenge of our time.
The Insurance Institute of London (IIL) Young Members’ Committee (YMC) and Climate Pursuits are, for the 3rd year running, bringing together future insurance industry leaders in a one-of-a-kind Summit on the west coast of Scotland.
Travelling by train (and sleeper train on our return), participants spend 3-days discovering a range of solutions to tackle climate change, engaging with leading experts, and exploring together ways for the insurance industry to innovate.
In the past two years, our cohorts have created lasting
professional and personal relationships, insurance products, participated in roundtables and even set up their own businesses! The format of each day involves a morning spent with local experts on topics such as biodiversity, salmon farming, aquaculture, forestry land management and coastal climate resilience, before spending the afternoon in facilitated workshops discussing solutions within the insurance industry. The day is punctuated with locally-sourced meals and time to reflect and have side discussions.
This is not only an investment in each participant’s professional development but also a way to positively impact rural economies by engaging local experts and communities.
Each participant place includes a contribution to the Scottish Wildlife Trust, furthering each company’s commitment to conservation and nature-based solutions.
Price: The cost is expected to be ~£2,800 – £3,200, excluding VAT. This covers all accommodation, food, drink and activities.
Travel is booked together but charged separately, usually at ~£350 return.
